This is the one to say yes or no to. Twelve and a half minutes. Everything below is just me showing my working.

What was wrong, and what I did.

Ten seconds of your voice were missing from episode 2, in twenty eight separate places. Not noise over them. The speech itself, replaced by silence. It is like that on the episode people can hear right now.

It was the old cleaning tool, the same one that ate your welcome line in episode 44. Episode 2 was the one episode nobody ever checked, because it is the one with a hand trim and that threw the check off.

I put your real voice back in all twenty eight places, straight off the original tape. Nothing was invented or regenerated. The pieces line up with the tape almost exactly (0.985 to 1.000), the episode is the same length to the sample, and nothing outside those twenty eight places moved.

Listen to a few and tell me if they sound right. "Today" is the real episode as it is now, turned up to match so the comparison is fair.

Same minute, twice. This one is new to episode 2 — a walk in the forest, pizzicato strings. It sits well under your voice.

One thing to flag.

There is a rule that no sudden moment should jump more than 5 above the general level, so nothing startles a child at bedtime. With the music this episode sits at exactly 5.0 — right on the line, passing, with nothing to spare. Without the music it has a little room.
