Episode 1: the new ending, and the last twenty two sounds
Two things, and then episode 1 is finished. First a listen: the ending was rebuilt after you approved it, because the music stopped twelve seconds early. Then the last twenty-two sounds in the file, the quietest we have found, which nobody has asked you about yet.
1. The ending, and why you are hearing it again. You said the episode sounded great. It did, except for the last twelve seconds: the music layer ran out early and cut to nothing, and the three second fade at the end landed on that silence, so there was no fade at all. That is fixed and the file was rebuilt. The story itself is untouched, note for note the one you accepted. Only the music under the ending changed, and only in the last twelve seconds, so let the clip run to the end. The player is just below these notes.
If the new ending is right, say so and episode 1 is closed. The answers box further down does not cover this one, so just tell us in words.
2. Twenty two sounds, and this is the whole of what is left. These are the quietest things the scan found in episode 1. They are below every sound you have judged so far: the loudest here is 59.4 dB, the quietest 62.2, and the quietest one on the last page was 59.2. They were held back from that page to keep it to one sitting, not because anyone decided they did not matter. Nothing has been done to them.
Why your answers here settle something. You retired the volume line yourself, after a page fifteen decibels below it came back thirty for thirty as ruffles. That left an open question: how far down is far enough. If most of these are ruffles too, the scan should go deeper still on the other eighty stories. If most of them are nothing, we have found the floor by asking rather than by assuming one. Nothing there is a real answer here, and it is the more useful one.
What you are hearing. The episode as it stands now, with your voices taken out so the sound is on its own, lifted by exactly the same amount as the last page. That is deliberate: these are quieter than what you heard before and they should sound quieter, rather than being pushed up to match. The dB printed on each card is the true level. 6 of the twenty two run longer than three seconds; the longest is 4.3, and where a sound does not fit in the three second clip there is a third button that plays all of it. 3 of them (10:44, 12:20 and 9:32) run into a stretch that was already cleaned in the last round, so roughly 51 % of each is gone before you hear it. What is left is what you are being asked about.
Times are on the master, opening included, so 13:09 here is 13:09 in the episode. Every clip is its own small file, so nothing waits on a download.
